Bihar: Samastipur Railway Division has created a new history in maize loading, earning 109 crores from 208 racks.
The Samastipur Railway Division has set a new record this year in the loading of maize. A total of 208 racks of maize have been booked so far from nine different stations of this railway division, which spans across 15 districts of North Bihar, for various cities across the country. This significant loading has generated a total revenue of ₹109 crore for the Samastipur Railway Division, which is the highest in the past five years.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vinay Srivastava informed that in the financial year 2024-25, maize has been booked from various stations of the Samastipur Railway Division, including Sarai, Bihariganj, Badla Ghat, Sonbarsa Kachhari, Alauli, Saharsa, Madhepura, Pratapgarh, and Hasanpur Road, for different states of the country such as Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, and Jalandhar. This booking has resulted in unprecedented financial gains for the division.
Record of the past five years broken–
DRM Vinay Srivastava mentioned that in the last five years, such a large number of maize racks had never been booked. This year has been the most successful for the division in terms of maize loading, proving that the loading capacity and system of the railway division have improved.
With this Bihar is again upskilling itself in the Agriculture and embarking a innovative step towards the growth and development of the nation.
